A Witch in Love by Ruth Warburton
But magic – like love – is uncontrollable. It spills out with terrible consequences, and soon, Anna is being hunted.
My Rating : 3.5 of 5 stars
My Thoughts :
I must admit A Witch In Love is surprisingly far better than the first book of this trilogy and more improved one, with better plot line and characterization. The book told the aftermath of Anna’s discovery about her witchy power and a bloody battle in A Witch in Love. In this book, we find out about the true heritage of Anna as she was revealed to be the descendant of the most powerful witch bloodline. Finally there are again consequences and wars between witches and witch hunters in a gripping battle.
As I said earlier that A Witch in Love is far better and improved from A Witch in Winter and proven to be an more interesting read. As usual she was confused about her love for Seth or rather she feared her growing power would hurt Seth at some point. However, Anna was still the same; confused as usual about her love for Seth or rather she feared her growing power would hurt Seth at some point. Last we saw Seth a completely a lovesick boy and here he was portrayed more matured compared to Anna.
A Witch in Winter had a satisfying conclusion that I was literally wondering to know how the second book is going be, Is it going to be the same flat story or something different and now I’m happy that I decided to continue with the series. There was a mystery build up throughout the book about Anna’s mother. Truth about her mother was slowly uncovered bit by bit into pieces and we learn what an amazing woman she was and how far she was willing to go to protect her daughter even if it meant to put a charm on Anna to seal her magic. Anna was wonderment herself, a magical offspring of a witch and a human which indeed made her very unique and an easy target for hunters.
The writing was good as usual but I find many loopholes in the plot that prevented the book from being a good thriller. However, it was exciting till the end and I enjoyed the book. The ending was bit cliffhanger which left question in mind that only can be answered when the last book of this trilogy comes out and I will be waiting for that.
